The rapid adoption of distributed energy resources such as solar panels, EV chargers, (behind the meter) batteries and heat pumps, pushes existing (aging) grid infrastructure to its limits. As a result, distribution system operators (DSO’s) are faced with increasing complexity and network instability, challenges which were in the past mainly handled at the level of the transmission system operator (TSO). In order to answer these challenges and meet national renewable energy targets, the International Energy Agency (IEA) states that grid investments need to nearly double by 2030, with emphasis on digitalizing and modernizing distribution grids.

eneida.io addresses grid operators’ challenges by providing clear situational awareness, detecting and locating events and anomalies, and enabling the optimization and control of the low voltage grid, without costly infrastructure upgrades. This approach facilitates the rapid adoption of distributed assets, while reducing grid outages and faults.
